Great results at the South East Schools Biathlon
Fourteen children and two of our sports staff took part in the South East Schools Biathlon on Sunday, from which we returned with seven medals and a trophy.
The event consisted of a 500m run and a 50m swim and took place at the Medway Park Leisure Centre in Gillingham. Children competed individually and as part of a team in the Year 5 and Year 6 Boys and Girls events.
It was a tough challenge, combining two different sporting disciplines and all our children (and teachers) did extremely well. Our Year 5 girls team came second overall, and our Year 5 boys came third in their age groups. Our Year 6 girls A team narrowly missed gaining medals, coming fourth in their class.
Lily won the Year 6 girls swimming event to come fifth overall in her year group out of 46 girls altogether, and was awarded with a trophy.
In the Teachers event, Mr Perkins narrowly missed taking first place in the run but managed to put 8 seconds between and his nearest rival as he won the swim.
