Carol singing at Otford station

Oftord station and early evening commuters had a dose of festive cheer, courtesy of children and parents at Russell House this week. On Monday evening, a host of eager singers, well wrapped against the cold, packed into the station ticket office to sing carols and raise money for the charity Porchlight.

Led by Mrs Cooke, the gathering worked its way through all the Christmas favourites, to the accompaniment of the rattle of collecting boxes.
Russell House raised money for Porchlight as part of this year’s harvest festival activities and welcomed a representative from the charity to the school to hear more about the charity’s work with the vulnerable and homeless across Kent. The school was therefore pleased to be able to raise further funds while carol singing.
