In Form 4 (Year 3) pupils move into Key Stage 2 and, from this year onwards, pupils have specialist teachers in Maths, English, Science, Humanities, computing and PSHE in addition to French, Art & Design, Music and Games. Pupils make rapid progress and are encouraged to work at a level well above the general expectation for their age.
The use of computers in lessons becomes increasingly sophisticated and teaching is often through digital tasks. Accelerated Maths and Accelerated Reader enable children to work at their own level striving towards personal targets. In-class support continues as in previous years. The demands of homework increases in Form 4 and into Form 5 with written English, Accelerated Maths exercises, mental arithmetic and science, in addition to reading, learning spellings and tables already in place in previous years.
