Fractions of a shape

Form 4 have been working hard on fractions in maths this week.

They have found fractions of a shape and of an amount. They also spent time finding equivalent fractions and different ways of sorting fractions. Some of the groups sorted them into larger than, equal to or less than half and others sorted them depending on the denominator.

In English, they have completed their Beowulf stories and enjoyed sharing them with their partner. They have also begun reading through their playscripts and finding out about their characters in preparation for the performance next half term.

Science and humanities topics are coming to a close this week so the children had the opportunity to carry out some research on an aspect of their choice about the Vikings and completed one last experiment to find out which rocks are the most porous.
