Age: 10-11 years (this class is equivalent to Year 6)
Time: 8.20am – 4.05pm
Form Teacher: Mr Loader
Homework: Homework is set each night and follows a timetable, which may vary according to need. After the exams there is less homework. Holiday work is set at the autumn half term break and the Christmas holidays in preparation for exams in the new year

Notes: Mrs Gascoigne continues to teach Maths and Science throughout the year and this, along with Mr Loader’s focus on English, provides effective preparation for the 11 pus and independent school entrance exams and for life in secondary school.
The period up to the spring term when all the exams have been completed is characterised by calm but sustained work and practice tests to build children up to peak performance. With exams are over, lessons continue and are augmented by the introduction of the Leavers’ Programme. This is aimed at developing the children’s breadth of experience and independence.
A highlight is the residential activity week at the end of the Easter holidays. All the class go with teachers from the school to an outward bound centre in the Brecon Beacons and experience pursuits such as canoeing, climbing, abseiling, archery, fencing and many more.
Children take positions of responsibility including house captains, sports captains, head boy and head girl. At the end of the school year, Form 7 take the starring roles in the school musical production.
