Children move into the Nursery in the term after they are three.
Their classroom opens out onto a large, enclosed garden area where
there are ride-on toys, a climbing frame and playhouse. They love to play here every day.

Children are encouraged to bring in items for the topic table. They learn a new phonic sound each week and sing songs and create pictures and craftwork to remind them of the sound the letter makes. They do number work and lots of craft and play, and listen to stories.

Once a week, children have gym and music sessions and visit the computer room. Here they learn how to use a mouse to colour pictures or play games which reinforce their phonic and number work.

Children are able to show their parents what they have been doing at the end of each session and, every Thursday, they sing a song to parents and carers before going home.
