A great week for sports

The Form 7 journalists share their penultimate weekly bulletin.

On Tuesday, we had our last Form 7 assembly. We had to present our slides, which were all about different things on our French trip to the region of Picardy. We each spoke about different things, like the Cathedral at Amiens and the Eiffel Tower. It was great to look back on all the photos from our time away, including our boat trip along the Seine and eating snails in the French market!

Sports Day was held on Tuesday afternoon. Thank you to the parents that came and cheered us on. We did throwing, cross-country, sprint relays, high jump, long jump and finalist sprints. Even if you don’t win, taking part is what counts, so well done to all that participated. This year, Cavell managed to keep their title as Sports Day champions. We believe that this is the third year running now. Nightingale came 4th, Johnson was 3rd and Fry were the runners-up.

On Thursday, Forms 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 each had a go at the French Olympics as part of our French Day celebration. There were five stations, which were archery, throwing, climbing, relay and ping-pong. Each station would help us learn our French vocabulary. The topics included: verbs, sports, flags, body parts and Olympic medals. At certain time slots during the day, the Form 7s would help the other forms with activities. Every activity was amazing fun while we also learnt lots of new words.
