Back in time
17 May 2024The trip to Kent Life was amazing!
We arrived in plenty of time so we walked around looking and learning about all the farm animals. We then learned about the Victorian era. This was really fun and very educational. The children have decided that they would not like to work down the mines, in a factory, be a servant or sell on the street. Form 2 then had a sock to sheep workshop where they learned about spinning and weaving. The trip ended with a bumpy tractor ride and stroking the small animals in the cuddle corner. A fun-packed trip!
I must also add how well Form 2 children behaved, with exceptional manners as always.
The children were looking at different ways to collect data. They made a Carroll diagram, bar chart and they worked at Venn diagrams. They have also been consolidating their 2, 5 and 10 times tables by playing Hit the Button.
The children have also been working on using a comma in a list. They had to visit a market and buy different food to take home. This was fun as many children bought crazy item; a huge dinosaur, a slimy snake, and a delicious pizza. They have also corrected sentences that were not correctly punctuated.
In science, the children had to investigate which were push or pull. They experimented with many different toys and objects.
In humanities, the children learned about special places. They had to identify a place that was special to them and why.
