After some settling in time, we went to le Musée of the Great War (WW1) and we learned more about the life of soldiers in the trenches. We also braved the bad weather and went to Thiepval Memorial and Lochnagar Crater in La Boiselle. The food on these nights was délicieux with an éclair à la vanille for desert, proving to be one of the highlights.

On Wednesday, in the glorious sunshine, we travelled to Amiens. We had a moment of peace and reflection in the beautiful Cathedral. We then headed to the market to buy some souvenirs and the all-important déjeuner. The children were allowed to buy anything, as long as they asked for it in French!
