Bonjour, hola, hej!

It has certainly been a sporty week in school, with many Form 7s representing the school in one of the three tournaments that took place in cross-country, hockey and football. With these tournaments on top of weekly fixtures, it is a surprise that we found time to do anything else in school.

However, on Tuesday, we opened the gates to families to come and see Russell House in action on our Open Morning. Form 7 carried out their duties with extreme diligence, comprising a mixture of musical performances and speeches with tours around the school classrooms and grounds.

Perhaps the highlight of the week, however, was Thursday, where the children took part in Modern Foreign Languages Day. As well as having the opportunity to dress up in clothes relating to a country of their choice, there were several activities for the boys and girls to take part in during the day.

In their French lesson, the class took a journey around the world, exploring Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Japan. For each country, they were tasked with collecting stamps by learning basic greetings and numbers. Why not see what they can remember at home? I was also very proud to see six members of the class present to the entire Main School in assembly, where they shared information about traditions and languages in countries with special attachments to themselves and their families. It was informative, fun and led with confidence on their behalf.
