French weather reporters
10 Jan 2025Form 4 have all arrived back at school keen and eager to learn.
They began finding out about the Anglo-Saxons in humanities and they were very amused to find out that the original Scots were, in fact, from Ireland!
They also began the new topic of rocks and soils in science and had a look at a variety of different types of rocks in the science lab. They were able to recognise chalk, slate and obsidian (thanks to Minecraft) but were impressed with the wide range of rocks there were. They also looked at what we use rocks for in everyday life.
In French, the children have begun learning about the weather. The children began by walking around the classroom and asked each other different questions in French. Then sentences about the weather were introduced and repeated several times with actions to act as reminders. Finally, there was time for some miming games to reinforce comprehension.
