In our routine

Form 4 have enjoyed their first full week in school and they have started learning all the new routines.

They had a great time in the science lab carrying out an experiment on shadow length and they were all able to complete tables of results using the Chromebooks.

In humanities, they discovered the extent of the Roman Empire and compared it with the modern-day countries by using atlases. They also found out about some of the reasons the Romans became so powerful.

Maths has been focused on place value and has included the introduction of decimal numbers. There have been lots of comparisons between numbers and competitions to see who can make the largest number.

In English, the children have begun reading the book Into the Forest by Anthony Browne. They loved looking closely at the pictures, that are full of hidden details, and then linking the characters to well-known fairy tales. They've also used adjective and noun cards to make silly sentences.
