Look at our tree

Christmas has truly arrived this week in Nursery, with our beautiful decorated Christmas tree!

The children were very excited and so busy choosing where to place all the decorations and we loved listening to them chatting to each other about which ones were their favourites.

We have been enjoying the story this week about Aliens Love Panta Claus and how the aliens helped Santa when his sleigh broke down. We talked about how we can all be helpful to each other and our families - the children have been very helpful this week by sweeping up the sand, tidying up the toys and helping each other find sticks up on the paddock.

There was a lot of sticky fun when we made alien slime with glue, activator, food colour and shaving foam. It was SO stretchy and the children loved feeling it in their hands and seeing how far they could stretch it.

The children made their own Christmas aliens by using different 2D shapes and googly eyes. They were fabulous at thinking and naming which shapes they needed for each of the body parts for the aliens. They loved looking at the Christmassy pictures on each of the shapes. The shape theme continued by pushing the pins into the 2D shapes on the pin board - fantastic for fine motor development and the children made some lovely coloured patterns with the pins too.
