Understanding the planet

This week, the learning in Form 7 has been supported by a fantastic trip to the Science Museum in London.

Accompanied by Mrs Carn, Mrs Knight and Mr Trigger, the class travelled up by train and enjoyed the day marvelling at some incredible feats of science, maths and engineering. As always, the Wonderlab proved very popular and lots of fun was had testing out the friction slides and watching lightning being produced by a rod in the museum. This work will now feed into the work that the children are completing during their lessons in school.

Another interesting link to the wider world has begun to develop in humanities and English lessons, where Form 7 have made a start to their Amazon projects. This week, the issue of deforestation has been prevalent and the children have produced posters on this topic.

A big congratulations must be given to the Form 7 children that participated in the South East regional gymnastics competition on Sunday. A very impressive performance from both teams saw our U11 Mixed Team finish third place and our U11 Boys Team finish first, resulting in qualification to the National finals for the latter.
