We are composers

Form 6 have been composing pieces within a set-structure in music over the past few lessons.

This week saw the first of the performances which used a variety of instruments.

This week in English, Form 6 has been focusing on poetry. The children have been looking for and discussing figurative language, as well as giving their own opinions about the poem 'If I Had Wings', by Pie Corbett.

The children created the following brainstorm:

Metaphors

Eat the rainbow and swim in the raindrops

I would swing on the sun’s rays

I would jump on marshmallow clouds

I would sleep on the soft fluffy cloud beds every night

I would be the first person to step on the sun

I would glide over the sea of sparkling stars and gaze at my reflection
