Form 7 have been testing for acids and alkalis around the home.
Form 7 have been being practical this week and their acids and alkalis experiments were a resounding success. They discovered, by using red cabbage juice as indicator that hand soap is a mild acid, nail varnish remover is a weak acid, vinegar is unsurprisingly a strong acid and interestingly, tap water is a weak alkali.
In Maths, the children have been making beautiful Mystic Rose designs in the style of stained glass windows at Chartres.
They have 'discovered' pi and also the existence of Pi Day in March (3.14 - if you write the date in American!)
As a bit of fun, they spent some time looking up interesting recipes.
