Form 4 thoroughly enjoyed Languages Day this week and there was a wonderful array of costumes, representing many different countries. They tasted foods from a variety of places and were very good at giving things a try, even though they hadn't heard of some of them before.

They have also been experimenting in Science. The children tested various objects to see if they were transparent, translucent or opaque, and experimented with coloured filters. In Humanities, they looked at the reasons why the Romans invaded Britain and the equipment a Roman soldier carried. Maths focused on place value.

In English the children have been writing descriptions, thinking carefully about the most effective adjectives to use and where they could use alliteration and similes.
