Autumn poems and maths points

Form 4's studies this week have ranged from poems to Roman towns and water conservation.

Form 4 have been focusing on poetry this week in English. They've written acrostic poems linked to autumn and worked on including similes and alliteration. In Maths, they've been learning column subtraction and applied this knowledge to word problems. They also worked hard to gain Mathletics points in order to earn certificates.

The class visited the Farm to see how the crops were growing and to say hello to the chickens. The visit linked to our Environmental Awareness week, as we talked about how the water butt attached to the chicken coop could help to conserve water.

In Science, the children were fascinated to learn about how different animals see things, and in Humanities they researched buildings that would be found in a Roman town.
