Precision and accuracy

Form 7's Science investigations are helping the class grasp subtle differences in key concepts.

To gain a better understanding of the difference between heat and temperature, Form 7 investigated the increase in temperature of two volumes of water over a 5-minute period in Science this week. In analysing the data, the class discussed anomalies, the value of repeats, and the difference between precision and accuracy.

After many calculations, we now have mean averages for both volumes which we feel are the most accurate representation of the data collected. Our next step will be to draw a graph, so we can observe a trend and make our conclusion.

We also enjoyed music and rhythm from members of the class this week in the music assembly. Our toes were tapping and there was a great deal of 'air-drumming' going on in the audience! Awesome stuff!
