Forces in motion
20 May 2022Form 4 have been testing the elasticity of rubber bands this week and thinking about the forces acting upon them.
They had to set up their own experiments, measure accurately and record their results correctly. They then entered their results onto a spreadsheet to generate line graphs and analysed their findings in detail.
They also had a chance to try out the archery equipment as part of humanities week which was great fun. The children realised that using a bow quickly and accurately would have been a skill that took a long time to learn.
In English the children are completing a piece of persuasive writing, trying to convince their peers to agree with their viewpoint. There are diverse topics ranging from Why dogs are the best pets to Why you should work at McDonalds!
They have also been working hard on problem-solving activities in maths and have realised that the hardest part is often working out which calculations you need.
