Measuring up

Form 4 have been focusing on measures this week in maths.

They came up with plenty of examples of things we could measure, including sound and force. Then they practised converting between the metric units of length, weight and capacity. There was also time for a practical session measuring the capacity of a range of containers. It was much harder than they thought to make accurate predictions (and also to pour the water into a suitable measuring cylinder).

In English the children have finished their pieces of persuasive writing, with impressive arguments, correctly paragraphed work and emotive language all featuring strongly.

The children have also drawn diagrams to show how forces act and thought about whether these are balanced or unbalanced in science, and discussed the Vedas in humanities.
