Big numbers, shadows and empires

Form 4 have had a very productive week.

They have started looking at the book Into the Forest by Anthony Browne and thinking carefully about the choice of pictures and language used to create settings. They've also had a lot of fun trying to spot the hidden objects in the illustrations.

Maths has been all about place value and ordering numbers, including those with decimals. They've competed against each other to make the largest possible numbers with digit cards and started using Accelerated Maths on the computers.

In humanities, they have begun the topic of Romans and found out where they came from and how far their Empire spread.

Science is about light and shadow and the children carried out an experiment to look at how shadows changes size depending on how close the light source was.
