It has been an eventful week in sport, with players reporting on the ISA Hockey U11's Tournament, hockey matches and football matches.

ISA National Finals Tournament U11 Girls: On Wednesday 16th November, the U11A team travelled to the ISA National Finals Tournament at Lee Valley in London. We had three group matches in the morning, with our performances including two wins and a draw, meaning that we won our group and advanced to the Cup for the afternoon. The afternoon was tougher opposition for us, but we fought well and gave every match our all. The results for our afternoon matches were two draws and a loss to the eventual winners. The final result for us was that we came sixth out of 32 teams, which we were really happy with. Everyone played brilliantly throughout the whole day. Ella M, Isla, Mevna and Nicole showed some great defence tackling and won possession back for us on multiple occasions. Georgina was in goal and did a phenomenal job at saving so many goals in all the matches. Lexi, Ella R, Eva and Madison were fantastic in the attacking roles, scoring some great goals between them and setting up some wonderful passages of play. We had a great day and thoroughly enjoyed the tournament. Thank you to Mrs Cobb and Miss Smith for taking us and supporting us so well. Madison and Ella M

Football U8/9 v Rose Hill, Team 1: Russell House started strongly in the match taking an early lead. We ended by dominating the first half, scoring three goals (Arlo, Sammy and Kit). Rose Hill came out fighting in the second half, but Russell House continued to apply pressure and defend well. By the end, our team had won 4-1. My man of the match was Noah for excellent defending and passing. Henry G
Football U8/9 v Rose Hill, Team 2: Rose Hill took an early lead with Russell House looking to equalise for much of the first half but being denied by good goalkeeping and the bounce of the ball. Theo made some amazing passes to James who always appeared to be in a good position to receive the ball. Many of the boys made strong tackles whilst Arty came very close to scoring too. Louis had his best game for Russell House and made a few good tackles as well. The final score was 1-1 with James scoring the goal for Russell House. Ash
Football U10/11 A v Hilden Oaks: The game that Russell House and Hilden Oaks played was a very good standard of football and was quite evenly matched. I think our defence struggled at times with the conditions, but the midfield was rather strong. As a team we should remember to call a bit more, especially if you are getting yourself in good positions. Hilden Oaks scored twice in the first half and Russell House scored once in the first half and once in the second half which led to the final score being 2-2. In the second half Dexter also made some brilliant saves under pressure to keep us in the game. Today the man of the match was Charlie because he had an excellent work rate and he also scored two goals. Dexter
Football U10/11B v Hilden Oaks: The B team's match today was against Hilden Oaks and the score was 7:2 to Russell House. At the end of the first half we were only 1 goal up, but it all changed after half time. We were playing better in the second half, passing the ball more and taking more shots at the goal. We scored another 6 goals and the other team scored 2. The goal scorers were Felix, Oliver L, Kamran and Henry A, who scored the last goal. Even though the weather was bad the whole team played really well together. Kamran
Hockey U11B v Rose Hill: There were many times when we came very close to scoring a goal and we showed some very good communication and we used the wings well. There are also things we need to work on, like getting our sticks down and harder and longer passes. We had some very good defending from Connie, Emily and especially Kayla. We also had some good attacking by Emily and Amber. The end score was 9-0 to Rose Hill. Connie and Dakota were chosen as the two Players of the Match. Well done girls. Dakota
Hockey U10B v Rose Hill: What an amazing game! We won 4-3. Our tackling was good, although there's room for improvement and our passing was okay too. We just need to get more players inside the D. We worked well as a team to defend. Our fantastic goal scorers were Izzy, Bella and Mia. I nearly scored a goal, but it was just outside the D. Well done to the team on a great win! Annabella
