Practical activities

Form 4 have been carrying out lots of practical activities this week.

They made their own 'digestive system' in science using Weetabix, orange juice (stomach acid) a plastic bag (stomach) and a leg from a pair of tights (intestines). They had a lot of fun with this rather messy experiment but also gained a greater understanding of the process as a result. They then tried to recreate their own digestive system on a t-shirt.

In maths, they have continued their work on measures. After practising converting between units, they carried out various challenges such as How can you measure the length of a curved surface? and Can you use Google Maps to work out how far it is from your house to school?

In English, they are writing Christmas poetry all about sprouts and in humanities they have been comparing satellite images with maps of the same area.
