The season to sparkle

Our topic this week was My Favourite Book

The Robins have enjoyed another festive week as we combined our topic with Christmas. They liked adding lots of colour and sparkles to their colouring sheets and there were lots to choose from, but the most popular was The Gruffalo. We have also had a very colourful week and it was lovely to read all about Elmer the Elephant. After reading the story, the Robins enjoyed adding tissue paper to our class Elmer.

We thoroughly liked using our interactive CTOUCH screen and it was great to see the Robins so enthusiastic to have a turn. Their favourite game was creating a yummy cookie for Elmo. The children were able to independently select a variety of coloured icing and they then chose lots of Christmas themed toppings to add that extra bit of magic.

There was a special treat on Wednesday as we watched a message from Father Christmas all the way in the North Pole. The children enjoyed watching the reindeer and they also learnt some interesting facts.

Our Robins are so very fond of the older children and it is always great to see them helping our little ones, especially when our Robins find the zips a little tricky.

The children have been busy making things to go in their Christmas party bags and we hope you like their special cards.

There was also enough time to squeeeeeze in a quick cookery session to make cakes for our Christmas Party. We hope you enjoyed our fabulous Concert and I must say, it has made us feel extra christmassy!

We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and we look forward to welcoming you back in January, along with our new Robins.
