Meet the Vikings

Form 4 were introduced to the Vikings this week in their humanities lessons.

They found out about the attack on Lindisfarne and wrote a diary imagining they were one of the Saxon monks living there at the time.

They have begun tackling fractions this week in maths and have learnt about fractions of a shape, fractions of an amount and equivalent fractions so far. They've realised that it isn't quite as tricky as they first thought.

There have been some excellent non-chronological reports written in English. The children had to write a leaflet about how to look after a pet of their choice. They carried out research using the internet and then organised their writing by using subheadings. The pets ranged from cats and dogs to gorillas and dinosaurs!

In music, the children thoroughly enjoyed their drumming session and picked up the varying rhythms with impressive speed.
