In English, the children have been using the book Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens as inspiration for their creative writing. The children had been tasked by Mrs Reay to create characters to be a part of Fagan's gang. They needed to create a backstory, personality and visual description of their invented characters. They have enjoyed relating to the children in the story and allowing their imaginations to run wild. Elsewhere, Mrs Gascoigne had lots of maths prizes to give out. Form 5 had numerous children who achieved excellent things on Mathletics and on Accelerated Maths.
