On the trail of Nessie09 Jan 2020
Form 2 set off on the trail of the Loch Ness monster this week.
Happy New Year and welcome back. The children have returned full of enthusiasm and eager to learn. Wonderful news!
This week in English Form 2 have been retelling the story Tiddalick with a partner. They changed the characters and needed to remember to sequence the story correctly using time connectives. They were fascinated with the various Australian animals and thoroughly enjoyed discussing them. This week the children also completed their first written comprehension which they found very exciting. Well done Form 2!
In Maths they have been working on number bonds and the two times table. They wrote out the times table and recorded the answers using multi-links.
Over the next few weeks Form 2 will be learning about Scotland. They started by locating particular areas on the map and finding out where the Loch Ness monster may live. The children were very imaginative when they drew Nessie on the computer and there are some interesting ideas about what it might look like. Next week we will be having a debate over whether we think it exists or not.
