Staff were the defending champions and had great hopes to hold onto the victory again this year. Mr McCarthy explained the rules of play to all and then the games were underway. It seemed to point to a repeat victory for the staff for much of the tournament. However, after some lovely chess-themed biscuits, made by our catering team, the pupils dialled up the pressure and performance and managed to tip the scales substantially, with the finish being a draw!
