Our trip to Kent Life
20 May 2022The trip to Kent Life was AMAZING!
This week the children wrote some school trip rules using modal verbs. They were very sensible and they thought of some great rules.
We arrived well ahead of time for our first workshop, where we walked around looking and learning about all the farm animals. Then we looked at all the different fruits and vegetables growing. It was fascinating and the children asked some excellent questions. Later on we fed the sheep, which was a wonderful experience for the children.
After that, it was snack time and then straight on to learning about the Victorian era. This was really fun and very educational. The children have decided that they would not like to work down the mines, in a factory, be a servant or sell on the street. The trip ended with a bumpy tractor ride and stroking the small animals in the cuddle corner. Form 2 children behaved very well with exceptional manners as always.
During maths, the children have been working on addition and subtraction using the column method. The work that the children are producing is phenomenal and they are all so hardworking. They are recording their work extremely neatly in their books.
In science this week, the children conducted an experiment using different balls to see which was the bounciest. They discussed a fair test and they recorded their results using a chart.
During humanities, Form 2 discussed special places and it was lovely to hear that Russell House is a special place to so many children in Form 2. It was fantastic to hear why places are special to them as they have such lovely thoughts and ideas.
Our beans that George left us are now growing. This is very exciting, but we still do not know which bean is the magic one. We will just have to be patient.
Form 2 performed their Unique assembly to Main school. They very much enjoyed speaking out to the whole school. They showed their special performances very confidently. A very big well done!
