From rap to Roman numerals

Poetry performance and a Roman numeral challenge have been part of Form 4's week.

Form 4 have been studying poetry in English recently, looking at various poems and writing poems of their own. They completed this work by performing The School Kid's Rap in small groups, thinking about the rhythm, volume and actions they might use.

Maths crept into Humanities the week when the class learnt how to read Roman numerals.  They decoded a set of Roman numerals representing letters to produce a message. They then discovered the message was written in Latin - so the children will be researching Latin phrases next week.

In Science, the children have begun a new topic about materials and they had to come up with the daftest invention they could imagine, thinking about the properties of the materials used. The winners were woollen glasses and a foil chair!
