Donations for Sevenoaks Larder
08 Oct 2025A thank you from our Head Girl and Head Boy at our recent Harvest Assembly, and an exploration of what gratitude means.
Sevenoaks Larder is a food support service that helps residents of Sevenoaks who are struggling to pay for their basic weekly food shop. We would like to thank you for your generous donations which will be taken to Sevenoaks Larder, where we know they will be greatly appreciated.
We want to talk to you about what it means to feel grateful. Gratitude is that feeling of being thankful for what we have. Appreciating what we have can make us happier and so healthier.
There are many things we can be grateful for. Our family and friends, who love and support us. Our health and the security of our homes. We are grateful for our education and for all the amazing opportunities we have at Russell House.
Even if we don't have everything we want, there is always something to be grateful for. Maybe we’re grateful for a hot drink on a cold day, a comfortable bed after a busy day, or the view from a mountain top after a long climb. Maybe we’re grateful for a kind teacher, a loving pet, or a good friend.
Being grateful can make us happier. Gratitude can also help us cope in challenging times. If we’re feeling down, it can be useful to remember all the things we’re thankful for. There are many ways to practice gratitude. One simple way is to say thank you when someone does something nice for us.
