Appreciation and understanding

A busy, fun week in Form 2.

In science, they had to use their sense of touch to identify the items in the Feely boxes. It was very tricky but great fun! They felt the braille on many empty medicine boxes and Form 2 discussed what it would be like to be blind. The children also guided one another around the room to experience the feeling of blindness. They all said that the experience felt a lot more difficult than they had thought.

This week the children have been writing instructions using time connectives. The children thoroughly enjoyed acting out their routines in the morning. The children wrote sentences using first, then, next, after that and finally.

During maths, they have been consolidating place value and using clocks, learning; o’clock, half past and quarter past. They thoroughly enjoyed playing games on the computer and they managed to get a top score! Good job, Form 2.

During computing, Form 2 enjoyed programming the BeeBots. It was a lot harder than it looks as the children had to remember their directions forwards, backwards, left and right. They enjoyed using the mats to program the BeeBots to a specific location.

In humanities, the children sorted past and present pictures into the correct locations and they learnt about the invention of the first car.

During Environmental Awareness Week, the children discussed recycling, reusing and reducing. They designed posters to help save the planet.
