Calming the mind

In Form 6 humanities, the children have continued to learn about Buddhism.

They have looked closely at the Buddhist teachings; learning about the four noble truths. They have discovered the significance of meditation to Buddhists and the way in which they use it to control their mind, body and emotions. Mr Plant set the children the task of completing some origami, popular in Asian culture, with the hope that they would be able to focus on the instructions being given and to be able to clear their minds and control their thoughts. It helped the class to tackle frustration when they got some of the folds the wrong way and it helped them to persevere with the task in hand.
