Investigating wings

Form 5 dissected a chicken wing to compare the similarities between a human and bird's arm.

They were able to identify the bicep and triceps and see how they attached to the humerus and lifted the forearm.

They were also able to see the detail of joints and how the bones were protected from friction by smooth cartilage.

Finally, they snapped a bone and were able to see the bone marrow where red blood cells are made.
