Like Michelangelo
07 Feb 2025In Form 5 humanities this term, the children have been learning about humanism and looking back at the Renaissance period in Italy where many of the first humanist ideas started.
They looked at some of the influential people of this time, including Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. One quick activity the children took part in was replicating Michelangelo's work painting the Sistine Chapel by having them lie under their desks and draw with the paper above them. We discussed how this period was the rebirth of many ideas, such as the reinvestment in art and architecture.
