Yoga essentials

In humanities, Form 6 has been learning about the Dalai Lama.

For homework, they had to research one or two yoga poses to share with the class and they were all very excited to get up to the Russell Hall to share what they had been practising at home. Everyone made a circle with one person at a time going into the middle to show their pose with everybody else having a try. Mr Plant was very impressed with the variety of yoga poses the children shared, as well as the superb flexibility of the class. Well done, Form 6!

In maths this week, Form 6 has been learning how to find percentages of a given number, for example 40% of 400. This will all come in very handy when shopping in the sales!

In science, the children have been researching whether humans will be able to live on Mars. There have been some fantastic discussions and excellent questions asked by the class.

Form 6 had a heartwarming time joining the Form 2s, who are writing a poem called Friendship Soup. Mrs Varley had found a video of the current Form 6 doing the same topic four years ago, so Form 2 invited Form 6 to watch the younger versions of themselves (and some staff!). There was much joy and hilarity at seeing how they used to look and sound. They then worked together to create their own poems. Form 6 were exemplary role models, helping Mrs Varley's class to produce creative poems and they did not want to leave!
