Narrating and acting

It's been a busy week for the children in Form 6.

On Tuesday, they performed their own version of The Little Red Hen to the rest of the school and they thoroughly entertained everybody with their superb narrating and acting. The children in the audience were asked to think of an action for each of the characters and then to join in as the story was told. It was absolutely brilliant to see the rest of the school smiling and following the story with such enthusiasm. Huge congratulations to Form 6!
On Wednesday, the children enjoyed a fantastic workshop by the author, Thomas Taylor. They listened beautifully as he told them all about his ideas and how he comes up with the names of the characters in his books. They loved how the names are linked to some of their favourite sweets! Mr Taylor, who is also an illustrator, demonstrated how he could turn any scribble into a character and the children had the opportunity to try this for themselves. It was very impressive.

On Thursday, it was World Book Day and the children came to school dressed up in the most wonderful costumes. Thank you to everyone for all the effort that went into this year's costumes.
