The library and a king's lunch

We have had a very exciting week in Nursery which started off with a visit to the Otford Library.

There we met two lovely ladies who showed us around and we enjoyed looking at all of the books that there are to borrow. We looked at true books and found one about dinosaurs which the children were very interested in as our book this week in Nursery is Diggersaurs. We read the story Farmer Duck and the children all had puppets to use to act out the story. They were very good at baa-ing, moo-ing and clucking

We also made some Coronation bookmarks and carefully coloured them in. At the end of our visit the children were very excited to choose two books each to bring back to the Nursery. The children each took their books to the counter to be scanned. We must remember to look after them and return them. The children did a fantastic job at walking safely to and from the library.

On Tuesday, the children enjoyed a picnic lunch to celebrate the King’s Coronation. They all loved wearing their crowns that they had made, listening to music and everyone agreed the sandwiches and cakes were really yummy! In our assembly this week we took all of the things that we made for the Coronation to proudly show the rest of Pre-Prep.

This week we have also been having lots of fun playing with dinosaurs and diggers just like in our story this week Diggersaurs.  We have made our own dinosaur skeletons and the children had fun cutting and adding extra bones. We even made our names into a dinosaur! The children were very good at re-arranging the letters of their names onto the dinosaur spikes. We also played a game of dinosaur bingo, which was great fun.
