Under construction

We have had another super busy week in Transition!

Last Friday, we had great fun exploring the equipment on The Paddock. The children did a fantastic job (as always) climbing and navigating the equipment safely. We tried new ways to move around and climb over the ‘spider's web’ and we had a few races to warm us up for sports day.

The children in Transition have been enjoying exploring their new construction zone role-play area. As a class, we all thoroughly enjoy playing with construction materials. It is always such a delight to see the well-thought-out structures that are created. This week, we have been encouraging the children to create design plans of what they would like to make. They have then been using the drawings to support their constructions.

On Tuesday, it was Sports Day! Luckily, we did not have any rain this week so we could enjoy the special event in the sunshine. The children were incredibly excited to demonstrate their running skills to all the parents and families watching. They have worked incredibly hard leading up to the big event to practise their skills needed for the races. The children in Transition enjoyed working in teams and it was lovely to have Nursery join us for the day. We hope you enjoyed the event as much as we did!

Last week, we enjoyed reading the story Winnie at the seaside. The children recalled their favourite parts of the story by drawing pictures and some of us did our own writing too. We have enjoyed looking at this story this week too! We decided to make some of our own magic wands. The children did a great job at cutting the fruit and adding onto a skewer. As we added the fruit to the skewers we tried to make a repeating pattern too.

We have enjoyed taking part in many activities this week. These included; making bracelets using beads, the listening game and summer themed bingo. In the game of bingo, the children had to guess the picture based on the clues Miss Mitchem gave. Some of the clues involved recognising the initial sound of the word. Everyone did a fantastic job at identifying the correct picture.
