A matter of time

This week the children have been writing instructions using time connectives.

The children thoroughly enjoyed acting out their routines in the morning. The children wrote sentences using first, then, next, after that and finally. Well done, Form 2.

During maths, they have been consolidating place value and using clocks learning o’clock, and half past. The children also were seeing what they could do in a minute. They had to balance on one leg, write their name and hop for one minute. This was challenging for some of the children, however they all persevered and were pleased to give each activity their best try. They thoroughly enjoyed playing games on the interactive computer and they managed to get a top score on Hit the Button. Good job, Form 2. 

In science, the children discussed what it would be like to be blind. The children also guided one another around the room to experience the feeling of blindness. They all said that the experience felt a lot more difficult than they had thought. They labelled an eye then they had fun identifying animal eyes.

 

 

 

 

In humanities, the children sorted past and present pictures into the correct locations and they learned about the invention of the first car. 

The children learned about their pet whale, Tidal. Tidal lives near Australia and we have sponsored him and we are able to track his movements. We talked about how we could keep the ocean clean to help Tidal and other ocean creatures.
