We have had such a lovely week here in the Nursery Class, the children have enjoyed continuing to learn about life on the farm and everybody loved our school trip to Willow's Wildlife Trail in Coolings.
We started our week by looking at our focus story Cock-A-Doodle Poo again and learning about how to identify different animals by their droppings. We looked at the different shapes, learning about what each animal eats and had a go at creating those shapes with playdough, strengthening their fine motor skills.
The children have also enjoyed lots of messy and sensory play this week. We have had a muddy pigs tuff tray set up, they have been mark making with different tools in foam, and creating tractor and digger tracks with muddy paint.
Everyone has been a busy builder this week, engaging in lots of construction-based play ready for our Coffee Morning performance, supporting teamwork and spatial awareness. They have also been working very hard to learn our new song and we cannot wait to share it with all of the parents next Friday.
Our trip to Coolings was so much fun! We all saw so many animals and even got to watch a bird show where we got to see a hawk and some owls up close. The children have shared that their favourites were the sunbathing meerkats, the talking parrot and the hopping wallabies. We enjoyed a woodland picnic together and loved exploring the wildlife trail together.
Next week we are reading a story called A Superhero Like You and will be learning about different occupations and people who help us. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing everyone at our Busy Builders Coffee Morning performance next Friday.
