Adapt and change

In Form 6 humanities, the children have been learning about the Industrial Revolution in their Victorian topic.

This week, the class took the role of business owners during this period of history and were tasked with debating how they would tackle different problems and situations that the factory owners may have faced. For example, choosing to invest in machinery and the expense of the people working in the factory and dealing with unions who were making demands of the factory owner. The children had to use critical thinking, reasoning and problem-solving skills. They also had to use their maths skills to make the correct financial decisions for their business.

On Wednesday, the class visited the Mother's Day stall, which was organised and run so brilliantly by our wonderful RHPA. The children always love going to the Mother's Day stall and we hope that all of the Form 6 mothers enjoy their gifts.

As part of Science Week, Form 6 took to the stage to impress the Main School with their class assembly about how we might adapt to travelling for years in space and how NASA is developing technologies and preparing astronauts for living a long way from Earth for months at a time. Form 6 put a lot of effort into the research for the assembly and Main School were astonished by all the facts and information that Form 6 shared about current space exploration technologies and developments.
