AI for good

This week has been Children's Mental Health Week and the children have been thinking about how our actions and words can have a positive impact on others.

On Monday, everyone was given the name of another member of the class and each child had to give compliments, perform random acts of kindness and make them feel good about themselves. Form 6 then shared how it felt to have received the lovely compliments and the random acts of kindness and they all then tried to guess who had been given their name, some were more successful than others! We are very lucky at Russell House that our pupils are always offering compliments and helping each other out, by holding a door open or letting others go first, but this week has really shown how wonderfully kind everyone is.

On Tuesday, it was Safer Internet Day and Form 6 joined Mr Trigger for a special assembly, talking about the use of AI. During their lesson, they completed a quiz to find out how much they know about staying safe online. They were also given some scenarios of possible real life situations which involved the misuse of AI.  The focus was on helping the children to understand the things that can influence us and how the internet can be used to make significant changes. They had to discuss what they thought was happening and what they would do.

Throughout this half term, the children have been working hard in their houses to prepare their song for the Inter-House Music Competition. On Thursday and Friday morning, each house had a run-through in the Russell Hall to make sure that they were all ready for Friday afternoon's competition.  A huge well done to all of the children for their hard work!
