Bonne journée des langues
27 Sep 2024Happy Modern Foreign Languages Day!
Languages Day was certainly a highlight of the week for our Form 7s. After several of them showed off their linguistic skills in assembly, they proved great helpers to Madame Boff, assisting many of the younger children in their challenges throughout the day. Lots of us had a go at trying new foods from around the world, as well as some more familiar snacks, such as pretzels!
Form 7 also played a key role on Open Morning this week, helping the staff to show off what an amazing school Russell House is. Well done to all of our tour guides, who spoke confidently whilst showing guests around school and a special congratulations to our Head Boy, Head Girl and musicians, who left our audience with smiles on their faces through their speeches and musical performances.
In class, we have continued to learn about the Titanic in humanities, had great fun learning about reflections in maths and completed an experiment in science, where we have been using light boxes. One of the highlights of the week has also been continuing with our Make your own app project in computing. We are looking forward to presenting them to the rest of the class and Main School later in the term.
A final well done this week should go to our Form 6 and 7 boys football A team, who performed valiantly in the Spring Grove tournament on Wednesday. After a long journey, they eased through the group stage against some good opposition before bowing out on penalties in the semi-finals against the eventual winners. The boys chose Oscar and Freddy as their players of the tournament.
