Celebrations and congratulations

It has been a week of celebrations and congratulations in Form 7.

Over the weekend, we celebrated lots of exciting sporting news in Form 7. Firstly, we found out that our A team netballers had qualified for the ISI national finals, after a fantastic performance at the regional qualifiers on Friday. Congratulations to all of the girls involved.

Not to be outdone, we then discovered that many of our gymnasts had matched this achievement by qualifying for the national acrobatics and tumbling finals as a result of their performance in Surrey on Sunday.

Two of our Form 7 pupils will be representing Russell House as a mixed pair and one will also be competing in the boys’ tumbling competition. We will let you know how they get on.

Further congratulations must go to one of our pupils who took part in the bonus round of the Primary Maths Challenge this week. After thousands of children from across the country entered back in November, he was selected to move into the next (and final) round this week.

The competitive spirit has continued in school this week, with preparations for House Music on the final day of term. Each House has been practising hard and finalising choreography and props. Well done to our House Captains for putting their group’s performances together. It is not an easy task.

In Humanities, the boys and girls have been very excited to find out what their roles will be when they visit the courts on the first day back after half term. Their mock court case has sparked lots of discussion around the different jobs that people do in court and how difficult it might be to be a juror when somebody’s fate rests in your hands.
