Collecting cards
20 Mar 2026Form 2 has had a very productive week.
During mathematics, the children have been consolidating doubling numbers, symmetry, place value, and their times tables. They have used the hundreds, tens and ones dienes to make large numbers. Super work!
The children were divided into four groups and each group was assigned a suit - clubs, spades, diamonds or hearts. The children played a fun game sorting the cards accordingly. It was a race between houses, but if someone turned over a joker, they had to stop and do five jumping jacks. It was a lot of fun, but they learned many tactics for next time.
In English, they wrote about the greedy frog, Tiddalick, who lived in Australia. They created their own stories by changing the characters and the setting.
In French, they enjoyed learning the names of different body parts. They also played an exciting game where they listened carefully and identified the body parts in French.

In humanities, the children learned about Thailand. They looked on Google Maps and they learned many interesting facts.
In science, the children went on a walk to identify different materials around the school. They spotted items made from wood, metal, plastic, glass, and many building materials. We then discussed where the materials originated.
During computing, Form 2 have continued to work on their animal powerpoint. They have added text, colour and images.
There was also time for Form 2's first big egg hunt, as this year they moved up to the Main School event for the annual RHPA Easter egg hunt.
