Creative expression

Form 5 has been fully immersed in both creative and historical learning this week.

In their art lessons, they have been exploring the stunning work of Georgia O’Keeffe, focusing in particular on her use of bold colours, natural forms, and close-up floral designs. The children have studied her techniques carefully and begun producing their own designs in their sketchbooks, taking inspiration from her style. They have also had the opportunity to experiment with collage, learning how to layer shapes, textures, and colours to develop their own interpretations of O’Keeffe’s work. It has been wonderful to see their individual creativity come through so confidently.

In humanities, Form 5 have continued their Medieval Britain topic by diving into the Feudal System. They have explored the hierarchy of society at the time and considered what life would have been like for peasants, knights, nobles and the king. The children showed great insight when discussing the different roles and how power and responsibility were divided.

The children also shone during the Harvest Assembly, where they performed beautifully. Whether singing as part of the Choristers, performing in the Chamber Choir or reading a poem, every pupil played their part with enthusiasm and pride.
