Flying to the moon
26 Sep 2025During English, the children wrote a list of items that they would take to the moon using commas.
They also played a memory game using objects and food items that they would take to the moon. It was very funny and they remembered many items. They also wrote an animal riddle and we had a great time guessing what animal they were describing.
This week in humanities, the children enjoyed learning about Neil Armstrong and different space rockets. The children made a space rocket out of plasticine with their own space picture. They were fantastic.
In maths, Form 2 have been busy halving shapes and numbers. We played a very exciting game on the computer and the children kept improving their score every time they played. They have also been learning their number bonds to 10 and 20.
Form 2 performed the Gruffalo assembly for Early Years and they loved it! They spoke confidently and clearly. Well done Form 2.
In science, the children have been learning about their eyes and the function of the eye. They were very interested and keen to talk about how blind people cope with everyday life. The children used a blindfold, and gave instructions to their partner to walk across the other side of the room. It was very difficult and they all agreed that being blind must be extremely challenging.
The children enjoyed programming the BeeBots and they managed to give instructions using forwards, backwards, right and left.
