Food supply
02 Oct 2026On Monday, half the class went to the Sevenoaks Larder to learn about their work helping those in the area who cannot afford to buy enough food for their family every week.
They saw first hand where your Harvest donations will go and heard what a huge difference it makes to our community. Thank you in advance for your generous donations.
As part of their Health & Wellbeing topic of Growing Your Own, Form 6 transferred our beetroot and kale seedlings to the vegetable beds down at The Farm, taking care not to damage the roots. They also managed to pick a few more of the cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes that we have been enjoying from the salad bar in The Old Hall. We all agreed that it felt good to get our hands dirty and that no shop-bought tomato ever smelt as good as the ones we picked off the vine.
In science, Form 6 gained a history of human exploration of space. They worked in groups of three to create summary cards of nine significant missions. They then arranged these cards on a timeline to get a sense of all the work that has happened to allow us to understand so much about space and which also enables us to continue exploring.
